5Watch band pin removerMay 23, 2010
Works very well, and the price is reasonable. Comes with spare plunger heads, which is useful since the forces can easily break them if not aligned perfectly.

5Simple, cheap, very usefulMay 12, 2010
I went through the watch band pin removal process twice before: one time it was manual process involving all regular (non-watch) tools I could find, the other time it was trip to the mall to use the service of jewelry/watch repair shop. The first method required way too much time, the second - way too much money.
This little tool costs less than a mall shop service fee and lets you do the job much faster (and much easier) than with household tools.
But beware: be gentle and turn the screw that pushes the pin slowly to avoid breakage. Have small pliers handy to remove the band pin (the tool will not push it all the way out in case of medium to wide bands). Small hammer would also be helpful once you remove link(s) and want to push band pin in place (being gentle helps again).
The only thing I would improve in this tool is the spring-loaded pad on which band rests: it would be nice if you could lock it one position for the time of the entire removal process. Watchmakers should have their hands steady enough, but regular folks may have problems with holding the band completely motionless.

4Works well, just needs to be easier to find instructionsMay 11, 2010
I used this tool to re-size a Citizen Eco-Drive watch. Within 15 minutes of receiving the product, my watch was ready to use, thanks to this tool. My only complaint is that the instructions (which are not provided with the product, but need to be looked up on-line) were a bit difficult to find on the company's web-site. Having read other reviewer's comments, I wanted to make sure I was using the tool properly, so I was determined to read the instructions first. If you do buy this product and need the instructions, go to the web-site you are directed to on the package, and select 'How to size a watch band', then scroll down to where the proper instructions are. Once you read through these, adjusting your watch should be a very simple task.

1Watch Band Pin ExtractorMay 11, 2010
The Tech Swiss watch band pin remover comes without any instructions. One might say that it is obvious as to its function and operations. I say explicit instruction are always helpful and removes any ambiguities.

The unit is made of plastic and will remove pins if you carefully align the extracting pin with the pin in your band. While aligning the extraction pin with the pin in your band, you must press down on the spring loaded step, which I assume is there to help in the process.

The unit comes with different size extracting pins. But since there are no instructions, I'm not sure how to exchange them. I was lucky in that the unit came with the correct tool I wanted already installed. If you require a different one, you're on your on! I think you can find a better unit than this one. Take a pass...

2Better Ones Out ThereApr 22, 2010
This item has quite a good feel to it when first using it, and doesn't feel very "plastic-y" like most of the other tools out there, but from there the praise ends.

The height adjustment tool is a notched springboard at the end of the tool. The purpose of this being that if you've got a thicker band, you can press down on it to align it with the pin. The problem with this system is that it causes the band to be unstable, and if it slips on the surface of that spring board, the pin will bend and snap off.

Also, the pins included with this tool, while longer than most, are the flimsiest item I've ever seen. I realize these pins are supposed to bend to protect your watch under too much pressure, but minimal pressure not only caused them to bend but snap completely! I went out and bought another link remover, frustrated with this one's flawed design, and it worked much better.
