I purchased this item for a friend's birthday. When she tried to use it, she could not get it to play. When I looked at it, I was able to get it to play for a minute and then it stopped playing. The buttons and the way that it works is not very user friendly. An example of this is that the player kept locking. When I read the instructions and tried to figure out how to stop the player from locking, it said that I needed to engage this lever that goes left and right on the top of the player. The trick was to press that lever down (even though it goes from side to side to advance or rewind your tracks...confusing). One bright spot is that TigerDirect (the company that sent me the product), was available for me to call regarding this last Sunday (November 30th) and their customer service department e-mailed me the information that I will be needing to return this for a refund (they only offer refunds--no exchanges).
