 Purchase of Russian language computer keyboardMay 13, 2010
In the interest of pursuing Russian language skills via RosettaStone I desired a Russian language keyboard. I had some questions regarding operating system changes that needed to be made to make the keyboard function. Via phone assistance which was well conducted with non-foreign based assistance this was accomplished with the minimum of confustion. The tech support was very very good.

Overall, this keyboard is not much different from those most of us are using daily. I am rating this one at only 3 stars for following 2 reasons.
1) As this is a multilingual keyboard, each key has a character(s) that are only applicable for a given language. It would have greatly enhanced usefulness of this keyboard to have characters in different colors. For instance, my old one had white for English and red for Russian
2) Quality of the characters themselves is quite puzzling. It looks as though characters are printed on with dot-matrix printer as opposed to "laser-like" quality of the new/traditional keyboards. Not critical, but irritating. One would almost question whether it would make sense to take one of the old keyboards laying around the house and apply stickers for $3.
So while keyboard is functioning fine, the overall "quality" look and feel is not there. It just seems that there were one/several too many corners cut in order to improve the bottom line.

Keyboard looks good and works well.Dec 29, 2009
The keyboard is easy to read, has good key action and worked right away on my Windows Vista computer. The sleep buttons also work to put the computer to sleep. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars was that there was a mixup and I was sent an Arabic keyboard instead of Cyrilic. However, the supplier was great and moved very fast to fix the problem. They had the correct keyboard in the mail the next day (I got it two days later) and I didn't have to wait to return the incorrect keyboard first.
